Management International focuses on offering job-oriented courses to equip individuals with the appropriate business and life skills to make substantial contributions to their communities. We're based in London and aim to help students based in Africa and other regions around the world with education gaps.
The structure of MIU online courses allow for a substantial amount of flexibility to ensure that students can access them across the globe and at any stage in life.
In all of our courses, you will find topics that are relevant and focused on teaching you the skillsets and mindsets needed to succeed in that field.
Each course lasts for 14 weeks and requires around 8 hours of work each week. Depending on which style of learning you are enrolled in (blended or online), you may also have weekly class time included in these 8 hours where you will be working alongside classmates to further apply your learning.
This class time, if applicable to you, will be set by your course's tutor. The class time may include group discussions, case studies or other activities where students will get to engage with the course tutor and fellow students. The class will be based on the material from that week.
Outside of class, or if you are a fully online learner, students will be required to do readings, watch course videos, complete assignments, and take short quizzes to test your knowledge. All assessments are created by the professor of the course. The tutor will be available by email for any questions concerning the course.
Students enrolled with MIU will be given a full student handbook to guide them during their time with MIU. Any further questions about the courses can be sent via our short contact form below to the MIU Administrative team.
If students have concerns outside of the class material, they have access to administrative support by email and phone.
Outside of our official MIU Courses, we also offer access to other courses and programs via partnerships and pathways where students can learn through one of our MIU partners or continue their education after they complete their time at Management International University. Although there are still obstacles to online learning, we see constant improvements in this area. Today, over half of the world’s population use internet and the important digital numbers of 2018 are:
• 4.021 billion internet users, up 7% year on year
• 3.196 billion social media users, up 13% year-on-year
• 5.135 billion mobile phone users, up 4% year-on-year
Additionally, the amount of time that users spend on screen and online has increased every year. These calculations tell us the world spent almost 1 billion years online in 2018 alone. Although the past reports suggested internet is not evenly distributed around the world, these obstacles have started being addressed by innovative technologies. For instance, internet users in Africa has already increased 20%. Also, internet satellite projects are promising to provide low cost internet around the globe including to people living in remote areas where fiber optic cables or cell towers do not touch. Moreover, almost two thirds of the world’s population use smartphones and creates the most web traffic over all other devices.
