Join our Executive MA Degree, a practice-oriented executive study programme .


This programme is conceived to assist reshape the perspectives and skills of policy makers and practitioners to enable them to appreciate and address the complex peace-related, conflict and security challenges of Africa and the developing world in more effective and proactive ways.


The overall objective  of our programme is is to strengthen the intellectual and practical insights and skills of course participants from both theoretical and applied practice perspectives. The content and structure of the programmes will be enriched with practical case studies from various contemporary national, regional and international contexts. 

  ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS


  • A Bachelor’s degree certificate in any discipline from a recognised university or tertiary educational institution with a minimum grade of Second Lower Division (2/2). • Applicants whose previous tertiary educational training was not conducted in English language are required to submit translated copies of their degree certificates and academic transcripts in English and certified by the registry of the educational institution concerned.


  • English Language Requirement: Candidates who have not completed any previous taught degree course in English (Bachelor’s or Master’s degree level) are required to provide proof of English language proficiency from an accredited institution (IELTS [UKVI] or TOEFL only). IELTS stands for the International English Language Testing System, while TOEFL represents the Test of English as a Foreign Language. UKVI simply means that the candidate has taken the IELTS test in a UK government recognised centre. IELTS taken in accredited institutions not recognised by the UK government could be accepted. • IELTS [UKVI] test consists of 4 modules: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. The marking is in bands from 1 - 9. The MIU IELTS minimum requirement for student admission is 6.0 band in each of the 4 modules.


  • Students taking the TOEFL can choose from two formats: a paper-based test (PBT) or an Internet based test (IBT). • TOEFL has a total grade of 100 points: (Listening 25, Reading 25, Writing 25, and Speaking 25). Students opting for the TOEFL need to achieve a minimum requirement of 70 points. 


  • Completion of an online or hardcopy application form.


  • Statement of purpose describing how participation in the MA course will enhance the candidate’s career aspiration (350 – 500 words).


  • An up-to-date CV.


  • Submission of all previous university or college degree certificates and academic transcripts showing all achieved grades.


  • One letter of recommendation or institutional support (from one of the candidate’s previous university or college lecturers or from a present or recent employer).

  • Hybrid learning option (online or in-person) 


  • Start date: September 2025


  • Course duration 18 months F/T and 24 months P/T 


  • Registration Fee: $1000,


  •  Course Fee: $5000 


           Fees can be paid in two instalments
