We have developed our programs to ensure that students are studying and exploring topics that have the potential to solve critical issues across the globe as well as provide practical skillsets that help our students find meaningful employment. This is why we have developed courses in what we believe are key areas for impact.
We hope that our students can apply the knowledge they have learnt to their own communities in their coursework.
We make sure that our courses have a community-based focus so our students can contribute to their community in a positive way, whether through business, policy, programs, activism or anything else.
Our alumni network allows us to measure the impact of our courses, create a network for our students, and advertise opportunities to our members. Students Success Stories
Throughout the 11 weeks I have spent attending this course’ classes, I can testify of how open-minded and business oriented I have become. This course, entrepreneurship in Africa, has made me understand how much invention and innovation is necessary for the growth of Africa. The notes offered during the course are straightforward and easy to comprehend. The course entrepreneurship in Africa, offered by MIU is worth attending.

The course is so helpful. I thought I knew a lot before taking the course and found out I knew nothing. I learned, and I had a lot to learn. Some of the best learning happened indirectly by being in an online course with MIU, a well-designed, clearly structured, and organised with a responsive instructor.

My experience throughout this course was tough but good one. I learnt a lot of new concepts, management techniques, business strategies, how to create innovative ideas and new ways to establish a long-term successful business. Thank you so much for your care and thorough teaching, Mr Nestor Foukoua.

Ibrahima Yakubu
“My name is Ibrahima Yakubu, and I am a dedicated science, climate, and environmental journalist with Africa Climate Reporters (ACR), as well as a graduate student at MIU.www.africanclimatereporters.com.
Throughout my time at MIU in the Kaduna State, Northwestern Nigeria, I have had the privilege of pursuing three key courses that have not only shaped my career but also inspired me to combine my passion for journalism with practical environmental initiatives. I’ve written numerous articles sharing my success stories and personal journey through these courses, and I am proud to have contributed to meaningful discussions surrounding climate change and environmental sustainability.
After completing my studies, I chose farming as my primary business venture. I applied modern smart farming techniques to my vegetable farm, which has significantly boosted my productivity and sustainability efforts. It was important for me to combine my academic knowledge with hands-on experience to make a positive impact on my community.
Being a journalist has always been a motivating force in my life, as it has provided me with the opportunity to share important stories that can bring about changes in the society. However, I have always made sure to dedicate time to my farming endeavour’s, recognising the importance of balancing both. While I focus on reporting on critical environmental issues, I also find fulfilment in actively contributing to the agricultural sector.
To expand my farm's capacity, I have contributed to several young people from the community, by offering them employment opportunities and paying them for their work. I take an active role in supervising their activities, ensuring the farm runs smoothly, and creating a sustainable work environment. This approach has allowed me to create jobs to the community and provide others with skills while also furthering my own success as a farmer.
Through the MIU’s business management certificate, I gained skills which have been instrumental in the success of my farming venture. By applying strategic planning, effective management, and resource allocation, I’ve been able to build a thriving business that not only contributes to my livelihood but also helps support the local economy and environment.
In addition to my work in agriculture, I have recently embarked on another exciting business venture. I have started recycling plastic leather into interlocking tiles, a project aimed at addressing environmental pollution. The rise in plastic waste is a significant contributor to environmental degradation, including flooding and soil erosion. By converting this plastic waste into useful building materials, I hope to make a real difference in reducing environmental harm while promoting sustainable practices.
As I reflect on my journey so far, I am incredibly grateful for the knowledge, skills, and experiences I gained at MIU. The education I received has empowered me to take bold steps in both my journalism and business career. I am eager to continue to learn, grow, and expand my ventures to create more opportunities for myself and others in the future.”
